Nerf bars chrome or stainless steel?
Many consumers when buying nerf bars for their vehicle for the first time are looking for the chrome looking finish but often do not realize that chrome will rust after a period of time and that is accelerated when there is pitting on the bars from road rash. Stainless steel bars that are polished have the same appeal and have the same appearance as chrome but are much more durable and will not rust. The cost difference is nominal but make sure that you specifically ask for stainless steel as oppossed to chrome and you will be much happier for that decision. Pricing can vary from store to store so make sure that you shop around for the best price. Don't be fooled into thinking that it has to be installed by an established accessory store as most applications can be installed in an hour or so with just a socket set set. Save yourself some money and do your own install.
